Waymo Puts a Data-Center Brain in the Trunk

Waymo opened the trunk on the computer that drives its robotaxis. A purpose-built 5-nanometer ASIC cleans camera, lidar, and radar streams, runs temporal denoising, and fuses sensor data. Those ASICs alone deliver more than 1,000 TOPS. Onboard capacity has grown twentyfold in eight years. Two independent engines; no human backup.
